Last tour: Austropop has aged over the years, and with it its protagonists, and yet its representatives, such as Wolfgang Ambros, Peter Cornelius, Rainhard Fendrich and STS still fill concert halls and enthral audiences, even after almost 40 years.
STS - Steinbäcker, Timischl, Schiffkowitz are on tour again in 2011 - definitely the last one, but this tour will again be unbeatable. They will once more play in all large concert halls in Austria and Germany. Then, a career of a special kind will have reached its end.
The three Styrians have never followed any mainstream and have never given in to even highly lucrative offers. Every three years, they have come out with a platinum CD, every three years they have been on sold out tours. What lies behind the success of this extraordinary group? Three soloists, each with his own fears, sensitivities and longings, and with their criticism of the state of society. All these led to cult songs such as 'Fürstenfeld', 'Großvater (Grandfather)', 'Und irgendwann bleib i dann dort (And Sometime I will Stay)', 'Kalt und Kälter (Cold and Colder)', 'Auf a Wort (For a Word)' and many more.
STS will continue to play and appear on stage, as soloists or as a threesome with band, but after this one, the time of the great tours ends.
